CEGSS  is a civil, nonprofit, academic association, based in Guatemala City, Guatemala. CEGSS purposes are:

a) Undertake research projects and academic programs in applied social  science to study equity and governance in health systems.

b) Providing training to researchers and students through internships and training workshops.

c) Support the development of young researchers through advice and mentorship during-thesis development.

d) The publication of scientific research related to social sciences and health systems.

e) Providing research grants for dissertations to undergraduate and graduate students interested in research in health systems, equity and governance.

  f) Provide technical assistance to government institutions, NGOs, academia, civil society and international development cooperation agencies, which may require the expert opinion of CEGSS.

g) To establish a specialized library  around the themes of health systems, governance, implementation of social science research and analysis of health systems.

  To carry out the purposes mentioned above,  CEGSS has highly qualified  multidisciplinary human resources
